Aquaponics and Permaculture at Sawbridgeworth

Hi all,

It was great to finally meet members from the group at the film night on 02/02/2012 to watch "End of the Line". Both the film and the group were so useful for me in light of the project I'm soon to commence at Sawbridgeworth, providing sustainably produced fish, vegetables and plants aimed at permaculture development.

The film left me feeling even more certain the project is important. It was also very useful to learn about the Marine Conservation Society and Marine Stewardship Council.

Here's a link to the 3 acres of land I'm about to lease:

One piece of advice I've picked up recently from The Survival Podcast (which I highly recommend) is to get a detailed soil test and make sure the soil has the correct balance of minerals. Does anyone happen to know a local organisation who can do this?

The aim of the project is to use up to date knowledge about natural systems and technology to see how many people and other life can be supported by the land - without any environmental damage.

To my mind, this is true wealth creation and is in stark contrast to the current, debt-based economic system which we see unable to support the people or the planet despite there being more than enough food, water and energy available.

I look forward to further discussions with the group as things move forward on the project and please don't hesitate to contact me with any suggestions.

Cheers,

Justin.
