The Sunday of the second weekend was mostly spent considering soil.
Firstly it should be known that approximately 50% of a good healthy soil is air and water. Now how much of either is dependant on how recently it has rained and how much and how well drained/draining the soil is. The other 50% is mostly mineral with a degree of organic matter again this is a bit variable again; obviousley Pete has a much higher organic material content, is almost solely organic…

Ianto will be pleased. :)
you can build a rocket on any floor that is rated for a water bed with out any structural changes.
that being said it would take some doing to ensure the mass was not to much . for third floor applications i would use a rumford fireplace or pocket rocket if you have a chimney access for your place. not as fuel efficient but it will heat a small apartment quickly and cut down on wood use.
I do understand the land is very hard to get on small islands. this is why i signed into this board, permaculture on an island is very important. getting food and things shipped in is costly so it follows that the less you import the cheaper things can be.
