Just for today do not worry,
Just for today do not anger,
Honour your parents, teachers and elders,
Earn your living honestly,
Show gratitude to every living thing.

"Only when the last tree has been cut down; Only when the last river has been poisoned; Only when the last fish has been caught; Only then will you find that money cannot be eaten." Native American proverb. I would love to see the world as the native Americans did and as they lived it. They were ( and still are in some places of America) community driven, the old are considered wise and respected for their knowledge. They live from mother earth for everything but ask before taking and take only what they need. They believe that everything has a story to tell, from the small stones that lay under our feet to the eagle that sours in the sky. This is the vision I see.

My vision is for a world where all life is valued, and where we can work together to nurture all that we have within us and around us, so that it is expressed in a way that promotes integrity, respect, peace, balance, and health on all levels. A world where we recognise our own worth and responsibility to make the changes necessary, and no longer wait and hope that others will do it for us. A world where we invest, not in artificial constructs that divide us and fool us into thinking we never have enough and never will be enough, but into a shared understanding that we already have at our fingertips the most amazing potential for all that we will ever need. A world where we have learnt from our mistakes and used this deeper awareness to move from a place of transition as a response to the crisis in which we find ourselves, to a place of continual growth and transformation.

Here is my vision for what ecological sustainability provides an opportunity for:

We are the privileged generations who have the opportunity to take part in an extraordinary endeavour to restore the Earth’s systems. It does not get greater than this. Far from being a project of impoverishment, developing sustainability gives each and every one of us a chance to use our talents, large and small, to the full. If we all come together, we can collectively contribute everything that is distinctive about humanity, to halt the trail of destruction we are leaving behind us. We can afford to give life the time and space it needs to repair and rebalance itself and, while we do, who knows what other riches we will discover?

Please do post your responses to my vision and also your own visions. Let's see what sustainability means for each of us!
