Hi Wenderlynn,

I do still have the schools info you gave me, but have done nothing yet as I think we need a project to engage them with otherwise there's not much point in getting in touch with schools. Liz Bell is potentially interested in this group and she is young and energetic, but she is in a full time job....

We are planning to contact the TH members to try to get more people active so lets hope there are folk out there full of ideas for engaging young people..

Hi Jane

do you still have the info I gave you on the schools that were willing to be part of the project? Did you manage to contact them?

This group hasn't made any progress since you had to leave! It would be great to get something going. Any ideas of how to proceed would be very welcome.

Is this group still running at all? It would be nice to see some young people as TH members.

Some of you raised a good point about how we engage those young people not in education, I hadn't really taekn this on board before so apolgise for that. I'll make it a point on how to reach those young people that are not in education. I like the idea of the job centres, youth groups.

I think the ideas coming out here are great but we are going off in all directions.  I think for now in order to get the first project off the ground we should concentrate on the older kids within the area secondary/college for now. My main aim is to get a project off the ground to get things started without complicating things too much by deciding who we involve and by creating lots of sub groups.

I've drafted a letter which I've sent out to the steering group for agreement. Once this is cleared I will send to schools in the area asking for two or three of their students only or there abouts. This will keep it nice and tidy for now and give us the opportunity to focus on the aims of the group rather than how many we are going to involve.

Beth I would like to chat to you personally about your ideas. Please email me through the site and we'll connect. Anyone else who would like to meet please do the same.

x

That's what I was trying to think of! There's an aspergers group here in Broxbourne - drop in centres/youth centres for 'dysfunctional' youth, or homes for people with learning disabilities, churches, scouts/beavers..um.. job centres?
