Peak Oil mentions in National Press - direct or indirect

Thought I'd start a place for us to collate news articles that would appear to back the case for peak oil being a reality. Not sure if there already exists a better place to go find these articles, videos etc.

Here's a start:

Um yes that's billed as a very provocative documentary in the BBC 'storyville' strand I believe, it's available as a torrent from isohunt if anyone goes that way, currently rolling down at 170 kB/s from 18 out of 19 seeds, so it'll take about 45 minutes to d/l :-)

We watched "The Age of Stupid" last week. If anyone hasn't seen it, I suggest you do so. It's a hypothetical look back from 2055 at these times of ignorance and head-in-the-sand ostrich-mentality with regard to the longer-term impact of our oil-based society. A vision of what our future could be if we do not act now.

Very thought-provoking, and one for next year's Film Festival, if it's within budget of course...
Guys,

An independent film maker who I think is pioneering in terms of funding and distribution and who seems to focus on very worthwhile issues made this film. You can get a legit copy for as little as £2... http://www.spannerfilms.net/product/download_ageofstupid

Something to consider.

I totally agree it's a strong contender for the film festival next year. For the record the screening rights can be purchased from here: http://www.indiescreenings.net/

Don, that's shocking!
Was it Jaybob's rip you got?
Great, thanks for that Nathan.

There are some interesting films here too:

Some things I've stumbled upon in recent weeks with our departure to NZ looming:

which points to

which has links to lots of resources.

Also, some responses to a draft NZ energy strategy document make for interesting reading:

And the government out there seems to be getting it slowly...

I think NZ have been getting it for some time now, about two years ago by 'ordinary' initiatives in places like Hawkes Bay and different areas of Wellington (usually accompanied by houses painted red and green according to a NZ friend lol) nd as evr it's iteresting that it's now reached and endorsed by their government, who usually are well into that kind of area I think (i.e. empowering their citizens) compared to say the UK government their miles ahead, we just have little commitees at the HOC atm :-)
Hope you have a great time there Nathan, don't envy all that boring flight time though x

Front page of the Guardian today:

Washington has been urged to take seriously a warning from a senior Saudi government oil executive that the kingdom's crude oil reserves may have been overstated by as much as 300bn barrels – nearly 40%.
