Hello all, been pondering whether to buy an elecricity monitor for a while now, to test various appliances on/off/on standby.  Then I thought that after initial testing it would be no longer needed.

SO, if any of you have a simple plug-in monitor we could borrow for a day or two I would be very grateful.

Alternatively, if no-one does, would it be a good idea to set up a collective scheme if we buy one??

I also have a [very basic] monitor that detects mobile phone mast microwave radiation - useful if you are looking to move house and want to check radiation levels first, though MAY cause slight paranoia!!

Are there any other schemes such as this? Not sure if Freegle would allow posts of this nature, or whether the people borrowing would be trustworthy??

Any other thoughts or suggestions?

I think I remember Dick mentioning he borrows a neighbours lawn-mower and mows their lawn in return??

All the best, Barney.

Hi Barney

sorry for delay in replying but have you seen our page on offers? A group in Brickendon have offered energy monitors to people in Hertford if you are prepared to join their scheme and submit energy readings. Check out the offers link under "Main page"...
